Jeep has always an off-road focus and today it unveiled two new special editions that both hold true to that philosophy.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk edition was originally shown off as a concept vehicle, but has now been confirmed for production. All of the upgrades that come with the Trailhawk moniker help make the Jeep more off-road ready. Those include 18-inch Goodyear Silent Armor all-terrain tires, steel rock rail body protection, air suspension, a Selec-Terrain traction control system and a rear electronic limited-slip differential.
Identifying the Trailhawk will be easy thanks to signature red trail-rated and Trailhawk badging. Other exterior features include five-spoke 18-inch wheels, black hood decal with red accents, black surrounds on the headlights and a unique gray on the grille surround and side mirrors. Red accent stitching can be found throughout the cabin, stitched into black leather and performance suede seats.
The second of the two is the Jeep Wrangler Moab Edition that, along with the Trailhawk, receives performance upgrades directed squarely at off-road enthusiasts. It is based on the already trail-rated Sahara edition, but boasts 17-inch Rubicon alloy wheels, Trac-Lok anti-spin rear differential with an available electronic rear locking differential, winch-ready steel bumpers and premium rock rails.
For looks, the Moab edition gets a Mopar power dome hood, black fuel filler door, tail lamp guards, black wheel arches, matte black Jeep grille badge and “Moab” decals on the hood. For interior appointments, “Moab” is embossed right into the instrument panel, which compliments the Mopar slush mats and Iron Gray trim on the vent rings, grab handles and steering wheel spokes.
