Mercedes-Benz won’t be bringing a new S-Class with them to the Paris Auto Show this year, instead, the German luxury brand will show off a sculpture entitled “Aesthetics S”, and a projection display, both of which tease the design of the brand new S-Class.
The sculpture shows off the profile lines of the car, while the projection display is meant to be a 3D look into the creative imagination of the designers. Design wise, our spy photos tip off that the S-Class will be growing a little bit, and adopting the same front end style as the updated C-Class.
A host of different engine options, including a diesel, hybrid, V8, and V12 will all likely be offered, along with an all new nine-speed transmission. Since the death of the Maybach, the S-Class now holds the title of flagship, and will be outfitted accordingly with the best technologies that Mercedes has to offer.
“The Mercedes-Benz S-Class has always impressed with its timeless design, which has existed for decades and has always pointed the way ahead. The sculpture is a continuation of this, and sets the scene for the development of a new S-Class,” said Gorden Wagener, head of design at Mercedes-Benz Cars.
