Ford Grafts an Aston Martin-esque Front Grille to 2013 Fiesta Facelift

With several European carmakers having presented new offerings in the supermini segment such as the Renault Clio and the Peugeot 208, Ford decided it was time for a styling refresh for its sixth generation Fiesta subcompact that was introduced in 2008 ( North American sales started in 2010 ).

Slated to debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show later this month, the revamped Fiesta in European guise adopts Ford's new Aston Martin-like grille that has trickled down from cars like the C-MAX Hybrid and the new Fusion / Mondeo.

The new face of the 2013 Fiesta was previewed by the new flagship Fiesta ST that sports a 178hp (180PS) 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine, though instead of the honeycomb insert the regular model features five chrome slats.

There's also a re-sculptured bonnet, a new front bumper design, and possibly new LED daytime running lights housed in the headlamps. From these pictures, it is evident that there are new graphics for the tail lamps.

As for the interior, there seem to be some minor changes such as the relocated buttons for the electric windows and exterior mirrors on the driver's door.

It is very likely that Ford will pass on these cosmetic enhancements to the North American Fiesta for the 2014 model year.

We don’t have any official details on the car yet, so it remains unknown if Ford has made any upgrades under the skin. More to come, so stay tuned.
