A pair of new special edition models equipped with accessories for off-road enthusiasts, the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk and Wrangler Moab, have been added to the Jeep brand's lineup.
The first model is the production version of the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk Concept shown last Spring. Offered with both a V6 or V8, the Trailhawk comes equipped with several capability-enhancing features.
These include the 18-inch Goodyear Silent Armor all-terrain tires with Kevlar reinforcement, solid steel rock rail body protection, Quadra-Lift air suspension with nearly 11 inches of ground clearance, Selec-Terrain traction control system and Quadra-Track II or Quadra-Drive II (V-8) with a two-speed transfer case.
In addition, the V8 model benefits from a rear Electronic Limited-slip Differential (ELSD) that can transfer up to 100% of engine’s torque to one rear wheel.
The 2013 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk can be identified on the outside by a styling package that includes special decals with accent stripes, black-surround headlamps and a unique gray on the grille surround, side mirrors, rear light bar, 4x4 badge and five-spoke 18-inch aluminum wheels.
Inside, Jeep has fitted the special edition model with black leather and suede seats with red accent stitching and Mopar floor mats.
Moving on to the Wrangler Moab, the limited edition model is based on the Wrangler Sahara and is available in both four-door (Unlimited) and two-door configurations.
Upgrades that promise to improve its off-road performance include the 17-inch Rubicon alloy wheels shod in 245/75R17 Goodyear Silent Armor off-road tires with Kevlar reinforcement, Trac-Lok anti-spin rear differential with an available electronic rear-locking differential, winch-ready steel bumpers and premium rock rails.
The Moab model also gets unique Mopar power dome hood, black fuel filler door and tail lamp guards, the new-for-2013 premium soft top, and special decals.
Inside, it is fitted with black or saddle premium leather seating with black stitching, “Moab” embossed instrument panel grab handle, Mopar mats and Iron Gray trim on the vent rings, grab handles and steering wheel spokes.
Jeep has not yet announced pricing for the two special edition models that are expected to arrive in dealerships this October.
