Yet another recall is plaguing the troubled 2013 Ford Escape crossover because of a risk that a cup plug might dislodge in 7,600 units equipped with the 1.6-liter engine.

This is the third recall Ford’s new crossover has suffered through in its short life and the second related to a fire risk since July. Yet to be announced by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), there are said to be 6,150 of the affected units in the U.S.

Should the plug dislodge, it would mean the car’s coolant would drain, posing an immediate fire risk. Ford says it hasn’t received any reports of fires from customers, but there has been one incident at a dealership.

Parts are already in stock for the repair, which will take more than three hours per vehicle and will require additional sealant and a second plug over the original part.

In the previous recall, which was issues last July, Ford urged customers to stop driving their vehicles immediately because of a fire risk coming from a faulty fuel line. This case doesn’t seem to be as urgent, but owners can still contact Ford’s customer service line with any questions at (866) 436-7332.
