The MINI John Cooper Works Countryman enjoyed its world premiere back at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, boasting a turbocharged 1.6-liter with 218-hp under its hood.
The MINI JCW Countryman is the latest to sport the JCW badge and will be the first model to feature MINI’s ALL4 all-wheel drive. The 218-hp is backed up with 207 lb-ft of torque and is estimated to hit 62-mph from a standstill in 7 seconds flat. The powerplant is mated to a six-speed manual transmission as standard, while a six-speed automatic with Steptronic is available as an option.
More importantly than its performance is how well the JCW Countryman model handles. MacPherson struts are seen in the front, while a central-arm rear axle has been adapted specifically for the sporty model. The vehicle is 10-mm lower than the standard Countryman while thicker sway bars, larger brakes, and 18-inch wheels round off the package. 19-inch wheels are available as an option.
