The ninth-generation Honda Accord sedan will be heading to dealerships in America starting on September 19th, and those interested will be excited to hear that the starting MSRP will be $21,680 for the well-equipped Accord LX model.

The new Accord is being referred to as “the most sculpted Accord” ever by the Japanese automaker, and was originally revealed back in August. A month after the sedan’s release, the stylish Accord Coupe will make it to dealerships on October 15th, with a starting MSRP of $23,350 for the LX-S model.

Fully redesigned from the ground up to “deliver new levels of refine, sophistication, fuel efficiency and fun-to-drive performance in the midsize segment”, according to Honda, the 2013 Honda Accord will pack plenty more standard features and technologies compared to its predecessor, despite just a slight increase in pricing across the model range.

New to the 2013 sedan lineup are the Sport and Touring models, targetted towards younger buyers. The Sport trim features 18-inch wheels, fog lights, 10-way power driver’s seats, a rear spoiler, dual chrome exhaust tips, paddle shifters on the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) models, a stiffer strut tower bar, and exclusive suspension and steering tuning. The Sport is positioned between the LX and EX models and comes equipped with the 2.4-liter VTEC engine mated to either a six-speed manual or CVT, with a starting MSRP of $23,390.

As for the Accord Touring model, it’ll come equipped with the more powerful V6 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. It will come equipped with the automaker’s first application of LED headlights and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with a starting MSRP of $33,430.

Those wondering about fuel economy figures will be pleased to hear that the new-generation Accord also sees an improvement with the four-cylinder mated to the CVT getting 27-mpg city, 36-mpg highway, while the V6 will get 21-mpg city, 34-mpg highway. The four-cylinder LX with a six-speed manual transmission is rated at 24-mpg city, 34-mpg highway, while the EX-L with a V6 and six-speed manual gets 18-mpg city, 28-mpg highway.
