New 2013 Camry SE Sport Limited Edition is Anything but "Sport"

The word "Sport" has become one of the most abused terms in the auto industry by far, and this new edition of the 2013 Toyota Camry is a prime example.

What the Japanese carmaker describes as "Sport Limited Edition" is a mid-trim level Camry fitted with the base 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 178-horses.

You might be thinking that if not the mechanical hardware, then perhaps the equipment package will justify the "Sport" term. Wrong. What this package adds is 18-inch alloy wheels in a smoked finish, 8-way power seat, power sunroof, and Display Audio (6.1-inch touchscreen) with Navigation and Entune.

Granted, the larger wheels could be classified in the "sports" category, but there's nothing remotely "athletic" about a power sun roof and driver's seat…

According to Toyota, the Camry SE Sport is available in these exterior colors: Barcelona Red, Attitude Black, and for the first time on this latest generation of the Camry, Blizzard Pearl that is combined with a black or black/ash interior.

The MSRP for the 2012 Camry Sport Limited Edition excluding a destination and handling fee is $25,995.
