Newsletter: New Lexus LF-LC Concept Heading to 2012 Australian Motor Show

Ever since the LexusLF-LC debuted at this year’s Detroit Auto Show, the general public has called for its production. All signs indicated that Lexus was listening with the possibility that the LF-LC will be headed to production within three years.

The Japanese automaker has confirmed that it will unveil a new hybrid coupe concept at this year’s Australian Motor Show. And while it’s a new hybrid coupe concept, Lexus stated that it’s a further developed model of the LF-LC concept that was shown in Detroit.

What’s even more impressive is that Lexus describes the new hybrid concept as having more than 500-hp, which would be the first details we’ve ever gotten on a possible powertrain with the LF-LC.

Lexus released a single teaser image of the new concept, which clearly reveals its taillights, resembling those found on the original LF-LC concept. The automaker also stated that the concept will be a preview of its future supercar design with the focus on advanced materials paired with high-performance hybrid technology.

“The Lexus concept is an absolutely stunning vehicle and is set to be one of the drawcards of the show,” Lexus Australia chief Tony Cramb said. “The concept will highlight Lexus’ design and engineering expertise–marrying design with function to deliver a glimpse into the future of supercars.”
