The seventh generation VW Golf GTI hit the show floor at Paris yesterday, showing off massive weight savings and boosted power. 

A slightly redesigned front end gives the car a slicker look, while the interior stays relatively untouched. The engine makes 220 hp, while gearbox options will stay the same with the choice between a six-speed manual or DSG.  VW will also introduce its new “progressive steering” when the GTI goes on sale.
