Volvo CEO Stefan Jacoby has suffered a mild stroke, but thankfully he is recovering while taking a temporary sick leave from his duties.
Jacoby, 54, is currently under medical supervision and is focused on resting and exercising in hopes of getting back to work as soon as possible.
Formerly employed at Volkswagen, Jacoby joined Volvo in 2010. Current CFO Jan Gurander is serving as acting CEO while Jacoby recovers.
“I was lucky that it was a mild stroke,” Jacoby said in the statement. “I am currently experiencing limited movement abilities in my right arm and, to some extent, also in my right leg. I have started to recuperate and already notice certain improvements.”
