Big Foot Monster Truck Attempts to Regain the Long Jump Record on New Downshift

Big Foot on The Downshitt image 21 300x187 imageChandler began accessorizing his Ford truck as a promotional vehicle for his four-wheel-drive shop nearly 40 years ago. When he saw other trucks in the same style, Chandler went bigger and earned the name Big Foot because, he says, he’d always come back to the shop with something broken as he couldn’t keep his foot out of the throttle. The original Big Foot monster truck weighed 15,000 pounds, had around 800 hp, and soon had fans around the country. Since then, the Big Foot name has been applied to newer builds including Big Foot 18, which weighs about 11,000 pounds and has between 1700 and 1800 hp.

Big Foot set the monster truck long jump record in 1999 with a 202-foot jump, but two years ago the record was broken by Joe Sylvester in his Bad Habit monster truck with a 208-foot jump. Check out the video below to see if Team Big Foot took back the title.
