General Motors has just announced the sale of its two-millionth vehicle in China for 2012, marking the earliest in the year that the automaker and has met the mark.
In 2010, it took GM until Nov. 4 to sell two million cars to the Chinese, while in 2011, it took until Oct. 17. This year, the mark was met by September 21, showing that the market is still growing and GM’s expansion into China still seems to be increasing sales. These sales numbers include GM vehicles as well as vehicles offered from joint ventures GM holds with other Chinese automakers.
“This is another important accomplishment for General Motors in the world’s largest vehicle market,” said Kevin Wale, president of GM China. “Despite the temporary slowdown in sales growth in China, GM has continued to experience strong demand for our unequalled lineup of passenger and commercial vehicles.”
