GMC Canyon Confirmed, Separate from Chevy Colorado Five-Point Inspection: 2013... Send us your Tips! MANUFACTURERS BY REGION Vehicle Types Shows and Events Motorsports Aftermarket Lifestyle

The newest crossover from Buick, called the Encore, will hit the market in early 2013, and will come with a base price of $24,950.

The Encore uses a four-cylinder turbocharged engine that makes 140 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque, and will be mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Weight savings thanks to high-strength steel help the Encore to stay light, letting it achieve 25 mpg city, 33 mpg highway and a combined 28 mpg EPA rating.

The Ford Escape, arguably the Encore’s largest competitor, comes with a base price of $22,470, undercutting it by just a few hundred dollars. For comparison however, the Encore achieves better fuel economy while the Escape edges out the Encore in total horsepower and torque.
