Jaguar F-Type Roadster Leaked Ahead of Paris Debut

It appears that someone jumped the gun with photos of the 2014 Jaguar F-Type, as an official image of the upcoming sports car has leaked onto the web ahead of its Paris debut. The image was uploaded to Chris Doane Automotive LLC’s Facebook page, and shows three  F-Type roadsters  posing in all their uncamouflaged glory.

Now that the self-advertising camo has come off, we get a better idea of the car’s lines. The front end features the traditional ovular Jaguar grille, which is flanked by split intake openings in the front valance. The headlamps are swept back, and feature a strip of LED running lights outlining the inside of the housings. As we previously reported, the rear-drive roadster will be powered by a new supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 producing between 340 and 380 hp, along with a version of the brand’s 5.0-liter V-8.

The photo has since been taken down, with the uploader claiming to have misunderstood the automaker’s email. Though we’ll have to wait until the car’s official debut next week in Paris, seeing the F-Type without camo really whets our appetite for Jag’s new sports car.

I love it, but it doesn’t seem like a car can be revealed at an auto show before being leaked out!

Crap. I LOVE jaguars, always have (owned one), but this: I don’t love it. I find the profile attractive, but the front clip doesn’t look like a jaguar to me, and i could live with that, I suppose, if it were more attractive. Maybe it will grow on me–but right now, this front end doesn’t elicit any emotional response.

Please let there be manual transmissions available!!!!
