Toyota’s current advertising tagline, “Moving Forward,” is short and snappy, but after about eight years of gracing Toyota print and TV ads, it’s being replaced with something new: “Let’s Go Places.”
Toyota unveiled the new slogan today at its national dealer meeting in Las Vegas, where CEO Akio Toyoda said the tagline “reflects the company’s commitment to more exciting product,” reports the Automotive News. Toyota Division general manager Bill Fay described the phrase as versatile. “The phrase conveys a dual meaning of physically going places and taking off on an adventure, while also expressing optimism and the promise of exciting innovation that enriches people’s lives.”
Toyota’s new tagline will debut on December 31 with the 2013 Toyota Avalon. “Moving Forward” will now join the many taglines Toyota has used in the past including “Toyota. Everyday” from 1997 to 2001 and the popular “Oh, What A Feeling,” slogan used through much of the 1980s.
