UPDATED: Suzuki S-Cross Compact Crossover Concept to Debut at Paris Auto Show

It’s been awhile since Suzuki commanded attention at an auto show, but next month’s Paris Motor Show may prove different. The automaker just announced it will unveil the S-Cross concept, which Suzuki has described as a compact crossover.

Suzuki hasn’t shared much beyond the concept’s design theme (Emotion x Quality x Aerodynamics) and two teaser images. The first is a sketch of the concept’s front three quarter view, where it appears more like a hatchback than a crossover. Still, the overall design appears solid with a high beltline, an aggressive front clip, and interesting lines. The second image is a detail shot of the front fascia’s corner, revealing a headlight, LED daytime running lights, and a side-view mirror with integrated turn signal lights.

Suzuki’s quirky lineup of crossovers on the U.S. starts with the tiny and affordable SX4 crossover. Then there’s the Grand Vitara, which still has more off-road capability than most of its compact SUV competition. Should the S-Cross make it to production (and the U.S.), it could slot just above the SX4 crossover or replace it altogether. If the Subaru XV Crosstrek catches on, a production-spec Suzuki S-Cross could be just the vehicle to lift Suzuki’s U.S. sales. The Suzuki S-Cross concept is scheduled to debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show on September 27.

Death to Suzuki cause their cars sucks

That’s nice. Now bring us the Swift.

Well, I wish Suzuki well on this project, but IM not holding out hope on them selling more than 5-10 of these. Suzuki simply isnt a serious player in the US market anymore. The competition is crushing them badly here.

Actually, Mitsubishi is worse than Suzuki in sales and other business. At least, Suzuki sells a little more vehicles than Mitsu and they’ll go on the US market. They’ll do whatever they’ve got in their hands to keep living.

I’m a fan of both of them, but Mitsubishi definitely sells more cars in the us than Suzuki. In the world i don’t know, I’m sure it’s Suzuki that sells more

Does Suzuki even have any U.S. dealerships?
I never see any anywhere …

there’s a Hyundai/Suzuki dealership near me, and a standalone Suzuki dealership a little farther away, plus all the Powersports places for the bikes and ATVs

this could be sweet :D maybe the next generation SX4? anyway I’m more wondering when they’ll redo the Grand Vitara, or bring the Samurai/Jimny back to the US

I see some Saab in that one:) If it ever happens, that could be the 9-1, built in Fiat plants in Europe.

don’t you mean 9-2x?

Never a real fan of that name. I actually like the second number spelled – I would be ok with 9two or 9twoX for AWD, and 9three, 9five, 9one, 9seven…etc.

monster is right suzuki sells more cars than mitsu in the US. as a matter of fact the article i read shows suzuki out selling mitsu in other markets as well. In addition Mitsu has made many deals with other companies
