The 2014 Porsche Macan was recently spied in full production form and now the German automaker expects to have production of its new compact SUV to reach 75,000 by the end of next year.

Reports are coming in that Porsche will increase the production at its Leipzig factory from the initially forecast 45,000 figure to 75,000 by the end of next year. This comes based on the word that Porsche’s head of procurement Uwe-Karsten Staedter have informed suppliers that production will be increased.

The German automaker is hoping that its Macan model will be as successful, if not more, than its current Cayenne SUV. The compact Macan shares its platform with the Audi Q5 and could be Porsche’s first model since 1995 to pack a four-cylinder under the hood.
