Don’t worry, you haven’t stepped into an art gallery – but the evolution of the Mercedes S-Class is clearly as much about the way it looks as the engineering behind it, and the Stuttgart-based company is teasing the flowing lines of its luxury car with the ‘Aesthetics S’ sculpture, which will be displayed at the Paris motor show next month.
The relief-like sculpture will be accompanied by light projection, which yields a 3D effect in which “the creative imagination of the (car’s) designers can be visualised.” We find the visualising a little bit of a tall order, but there certainly are some striking lines to behold, and the strong creases along the body echo those on the new W176 A-Class.
Autocar reports that the next-gen Mercedes S-Class is expected to first surface at the Detroit motor show next January.
