As the curtain slowly closes on the current generation BMW M3, the German automaker announced back in July a special edition model that pays tribute to the famous Lime Rock Park track in Connecticut.
What sets the Lime Rock Park Edition M3 apart from its standard production model is a Fire Orange paint exterior, 19-inch wheels, lightweight titanium exhaust, carbon fiber front splitter, rear deck spoiler and roof, six-speed manual transmission, and leather-trimmed interior. Unfortunately the performance remains the same with a 4.0-liter V8 under the hood packing 414-hp.
But thanks to the carbon fiber goodies, the M3 sheds some pounds off its body, and with a starting price of $70,100 before destination fee, it’s certainly a collector’s edition for the die-hard M3 fans. BMW will only be producing 200 of these, and recently number-1 made its way to the famous track that its named after for some camera time.
